Empowering Vulnerable Children in Ndola, Zambia Through Free Education and Holistic Support
A Future 4 Kids School began in 2009 when Joyce Chimbila and her friend Minerva Kachaka created a small mission offering meals and basic literacy and numeracy lessons to vulnerable children in Ndola, Zambia. Their goal was to help prepare children from disadvantaged backgrounds for enrolment in local Government Primary Schools. But the Government Schools wouldn’t accept these children as they were “too old”.
So in 2010, they started their own primary school dedicated to providing free, quality education, along with nutritious meals, essential healthcare and a safe, nurturing environment. Today, the school serves over 300 children, many of whom are orphans or survivors of abuse and extreme poverty.
A Future 4 Kids’ commitment doesn’t end at Primary School. We continue to support our students through secondary and tertiary education, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty and build brighter futures.
We're especially proud to share that in 2025, three of the 2009 Foundation Students will be graduating from Northrise University. A meaningful, “Mission Impossible” milestone for them, their families, and our school community.
“Education is not a way of escaping poverty: it is a way of fighting it.”
