The A Future 4 Kids School’s Story – Restoring Hope, One Child at a Time

In 2009, a small act of compassion planted the seeds of something extraordinary. In the heart of Old Mushili — one of the poorest communities in Ndola, Zambia — Joyce Chimbila and her friend Minerva Kachaka began a simple Feeding Program for local orphans and vulnerable children. What started as providing meals soon expanded into literacy and numeracy lessons under a tree — and before long, a school was born.

Today, A Future 4 Kids School has grown into a registered school that educates over 265 primary students, and supports over 50 secondary students, and several in tertiary and vocational education.

Our Vision and Impact

To break the cycles of poverty, violence, and neglect, the school offers:

  • Free, quality education from Early Childhood to Grade 7, with scholarships for further study

  • Nutritious meals, shelter, and medical care

  • Protection and emotional support for children affected by trauma or abuse

  • Practical life skills training — from tailoring and farming to small business development

The children served are among the most disadvantaged in the world, many living on less than a dollar a day. But through education, care, and community support, they are being equipped to rewrite their futures.

More Than a School – A Community Movement

The school is built on the passion and dedication of a growing team of local teachers, staff, volunteers, and community leaders who share a common mission: to uplift children and empower families.

Under Joyce Chimbila’s leadership — and with the tireless support of this committed team — the school has grown not only in size, but in vision. New classrooms have been built, a borehole now supplies clean water to the school and surrounding families, and sustainable projects like farming, brickmaking, and microloans are improving livelihoods in the local community.

The work is collaborative, community-led, and deeply rooted in local knowledge and care.

Why Your Support Matters

Your donation doesn’t just fund a school — it fuels transformation.
Each contribution helps provide education, safety, health care, and hope for children who have known extreme hardship. It also strengthens a local team who are changing lives every single day.

With your help, these children will become Zambia’s future teachers, leaders, entrepreneurs, and caregivers — creating a ripple effect that lifts families and transforms communities.

Together, we can build a future where every child has the chance to thrive.

Current School Staff
