Clean Water & Sanitation
At the original school campus, water supply was erratic, so a bore was drilled and a hand pump installed to provided clean water for consumption.
Hygienic toilet facilities were constructed.
As a result, Infections with water-borne diseases has been uncommon among the children.
At the new block in Kaloko, a bore hole is providing clean water.
At this site the water table is much lower, so an electric pump is required.
In the dry season, water is also made available to local neighbours.
At Koloko, there was already a toilet block built near the sports field. This has three girl’s and 3 boy’s toilets. Two additional toilets have been included in the 4 classroom block.
Until the local government provides reticulated water to the area of Kaloko, ALMs will also continue to help our neighbours.
