“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela

Solution

The original kindergarten grew out of the 2009 feeding program’s literacy and numeracy program with the aim to prepare these children for entry into a government primary school.

They were not accepted because the authorities said so many were too old.

The solution was to start a primary school in a concrete shed.

Over the next 6 years the school expanded with a new grade each year.

In 2016 the first group of children sat the High School Entrance Examination.

Such is the standard of teaching and support that ALMs graduates are now very highly regarded.

Every single child of this first group and all subsequent groups have been accepted.

At the end of 2021 this same first group of young people will be graduating from High School.

Our target is to sponsor each (and subsequent) young people through Tertiary or Vocational Training.

TARGET:

To double the number of children enrolled at the school by 2027.
